Luego de meses de rumores, finalmente la banda confirmó la noticia sobre su separación por problemas internos.
El 9 de febrero de este año en Rancagua, fue la última vez que se tuvo registro de alguna presentación en vivo de Amarga Marga y desde esa fecha sus fanáticos estaban expectantes ante su ausencia en redes sociales y dejaban comentarios en sus publicaciones más recientes en busca de explicaciones. Finalmente, después de casi seis meses de silencio, tres de sus miembros (Nahi Ferreira, Diego Terán y Diego González) confirman la noticia:
«Las razones se deben principalmente a actos dañinos de Felipe, con la banda, en sus relaciones personales y consigo mismo. Es por esto que nosotros tres decidimos que lo más consecuente y sano fue finalizar este proyecto. Gracias sinceras por el cariño y apañe durante estos años» comunicaron en su fan page.
El músico aludido, Felipe Huerta, ya había confirmado a través de sus redes esta separación. Incluso, en estos meses aprovechó de lanzar su proyecto solista.
Amarga Marga debutó en 2013 con un EP, donde dieron cuenta de un sonido diferente a la generación de bandas conocida como «pop de guitarras». Guitarras y sintetizadores se entrelazaban con una potente batería, lo cual se plasmó en sus tocatas y también en sus dos discos: «Mi Arma Blanca» (2016) y «Dimensiones» (2017). Este último, tomó una corriente más cercana al pop y fue nominado en la reciente edición de Premios Pulsar.
