Probablemente, Playa Gótica se situaba en el último lugar de posibles separaciones y la noticia nos llegó de sopetón. Fanny y Charlie fueron invitados este jueves al programa Revólver de Súbela Radio para promocionar su nuevo single, «Donde no volver». Un título muy sugerente pero que ni los mismos conductores del programa (Patricio Pérez y Manuel Toledo-Campos) se esperaban lo que dirían en medio de la entrevista.
«Hoy día la industria te exige una velocidad que nosotros no estábamos teniendo y eso nos generaba tensión y angustia» comenta Fanny Leona entre las razones que los llevó a tomar esta decisión. «Si tuvimos esta banda era para pasarla bien y ahora estamos atrapados porque no estamos generando a la velocidad de las generaciones actuales, que lanzan un single cada dos semanas» agrega la vocalista.
Entre el proyecto solista y la estadía en Quinteros de Fanny Leona (voz), motivos familiares de Charlie (guitarra y synths) y la participación de Pipa (batería) y Loader (bajo) en otras bandas, se hacía prácticamente imposible continuar con Playa Gótica, concluyendo con una historia de cinco años y dejando a su único álbum «Amigurumi» como entre las más destacadas producciones de la escena chilena independiente del último tiempo (y no, no le estoy poniendo color).
«Cuatro cabezas tratando de sobrevivir en un mundo hecho de solistas era difícil» cuenta Fanny a Súbela Radio. Sin embargo, esta banda no se despedirá así como así, ya que lanzó su nuevo single «Donde no volver», que se suma a «Fuerte» como adelantos de un posible EP y próximamente estrenarán su respectivo videoclip.
Además, aprovecharán su presentación del próximo domingo 4 de agosto en la Blondie para despedirse de los escenarios (al menos en Santiago). El concierto es para todas las edades y contará con invitados especiales que se irán revelando en sus redes sociales.
